This has been my mantra all afternoon last Friday and a good part of last weekend.
I was at the eye doctor last Friday in the hope of improving my eyesight like I researched in my last posting.
Turns out he wouldn't recommend implanted lens for me because:
1) too nearsighted for help (my prescription for glasses is -7.00 and -5.00)
2) retinas are too long and thin
3) because retinas are long and thin, surgery may have risk of detached retinas.
So it just came down to "Live with it." Which I've been hearing all my life. I was in a pissy, disappointed mood for a while. I swear if someone came along and said "Hi! I'm an ophthalmologist!" I'd choke the snot out of 'em.
So have been trying to stay positive and remind myself "Nothing lost - nothing gained" everything's back to "normal". The good news was my eyesight hasn't changed in the last 3 years or so. The reason why I thought my eyesight was getting worse was probably because my old glasses are so scratched up (snickering).
So, back to the research desk and see if there are other options or just more low vision tools to use. Who knows maybe in this small town, I'd can get around in a golf cart hmmm??
